Forensic Pathology Consultants provides Autopsy Services to many hospitals in North East Indiana.

In the unfortunate event that a patient dies while an inpatient in a hospital, an autopsy may be performed to explain the death. In the event that the death is not investigated by a Coroner’s office, the family and doctor must agree that a hospital autopsy is to be performed.

The hospital autopsy is often performed to explain the extent of a disease process that the patient was known or suspected to have. Generally, but not always, these autopsies are performed at no cost to the family.
